While China is slowly recovering from the recent COVID-19 outbreak, most of the world’s countries are just starting to get affected. Some media outlets have sentimentalized the outbreak, telling the world that we are in this together, and that it affects us all equally.
Sadly, this is far from the truth. We are not equally affected, and if anything, COVID-19 shows us how unequal our societies are.
While fighting this outbreak, it is important to reflect on the societies we have built, and to consider ways of fighting against inequalities and building an inclusive world, where everyone can enjoy the same level of safety and protection. “Leaving No One Behind” is a series of reflections and stories of those who are disproportionately affected by the outbreak from all over the world, to encourage all of us to act for an inclusive and equal world.
